I have decided to put the balloons away for a bit and just paint. For a while now I have really wanted to work on face painting but I always gravitate towards my balloons. So for the next three months I am challenging myself to truly work on becoming a face painter. For the next 90 day I will be posting my journey and all I have learned. Wish me luck :)

Day 14-15: Back to Business
Soooo, Christmas time was not the best time to decide to paint everyday :( although I thought about it every day I was WAY too busy entertaining family and friends to sit and paint. I did paint some so I will count these pictures as days 14 and 15. Hopefully I am back on track now and will start painting everyday again :) 75 days to go!!!

Day 13, Something Fishy
Today
I planned on painting fish on two of my kids but they had “better” things to do.
Kristin was the only one willing to be painted
so I had to paint myself. I am getting
much better at loading my brush properly. The next two days I will be in New York so I
will just have a Wolfe Essential Palette and maybe a Tag rainbow cake with me but I will still be painting :) Wish me luck.

Days 9-12
Sooooo, Thursday I painted myself as a winter princess,
Saturday I painted children at my parties and tonight I played around with
small tear drops. I also painted Kristin as a zombie doll. After, I took her to the store so she could
have some fun staring at folks. I am
having a lot of fun painting everyday and I can already see a difference. Please sign up and follow me :) Good night!

Day 8, More Lisa Young :)
Today I watched a few more YouTube tutorials by Lisa Young. She is amazing! On the gingerbread man face I made my first stars...I really like them :) Tomorrow I think I am going to work more on fast lines and tear drops. I will also try to take some time and watch another class on FABATV. One day soon I am going to paint my DH :)

Day 7, Snowman Eyes
Today I watched a YouTube tutorial by Lisa Young www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DM31EWyQbA I love this design so I tried it on Hannah (my 19 month old) first. Later Amber (my 6 year old) wanted one too so I got to paint it again. I didn’t have the same metallic colors Lisa used but I still love the idea and I hope to paint it again.

Day 5
Long day! I was hoping to paint more tonight but I think I have painted enough for one day. This week I want to continue to practice my sponging and work more on my lines. I also want to start working on my book of designs I offer. Good night :)
Day 4
I am super exhausted tonight but still practiced my lines, and tear drops. Tomorrow I work most of the day and I will get to painting at both of my shows. Wish me luck.

Day 3, Sponging and lines
Today I finished the Mark Reid class I started yesterday. Then I worked on the exercises in his tutorial. The sponging went better than I thought it would but I still need lots of practice. I also realized that one of the problems I have with my line work is that my brush is drying out too fast so, I will be working on loading my brush properly. Tomorrow I will be face painting at my parties but I don’t think I am going to count that as my day 4. This weekend I plan to continue working on my sponging and lines :)

Day 2, Back to the basics
Today I watched about 30 minutes of a Mark Reid class on "Mastering Your Lines". I am looking forward to meeting Mark this year at Kapital Kidvention. I used my leg as my practice broad tonight as I worked on thick to thin lines, tear drops, swirls, etc. Tomorrow I will work on doing these lines a little faster and I’ll work on sponging. I hate sponge painting!

Day 1
Today I watched some face painting classes on FABATV www.fabatv.com One artist I enjoyed watching, Margi Kanter, does this cute nose art. So today I painted one of her designs on my little girl. I really need to work on the basics so tomorrow I am going to take about 20 steps back and work on my brush strokes.
